The good news of Jesus’ love for you

Jesus Loves YOU.

This bracelet is more than just a colorful accessory. It’s a reminder of his love. Each color and Bible verse tells a part of the story of Jesus’ sacrifice for each and every one of us — yes, even you.

SIN

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” -ROMANS 3:23

We are all sinners. We do things that hurt others and ourselves — every last one of us. All except Him — Jesus.

DEATH

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” –Romans 6:23

The cost of our sin is death. Until Jesus came down, paid the debt that we could never pay ourselves on the cross, and conquered death when he rose from the grave.

LOVE

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

Jesus lived a sinless life—the perfect, unblemished lamb. And yet, he willingly went to the cross to die for us—knowing the very people he was giving his life for were sinners. But he loved us so much that he was willing to pay our debt, so we could experience eternal life in Him.

FAITH

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9

There is nothing you could ever do to deserve the gift of Jesus’ sacrifice. You are saved by God’s grace, through faith in Him alone. No amount of good deeds, theological degrees, or moral achievements could ever make you more or less worthy of his love.

LIFE

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” – Romans 10:9-10

To receive the gift of eternal life from Jesus, all you have to do is accept Him—and the truth of what He did for you—into your heart, and profess His holy name to the world. It’s more than just an idea in your head, it’s a commitment to a relationship with Him—to spend time with him through prayer, to know him through Scripture, and to walk in his ways, depending on his Spirit to help you.

GO DEEPER

If you’re ready to share this good news with the rest of the world (or maybe just your friends and family, for starters), and you’d like to learn more about how to do that, we’d love for you to join us this summer for our sermon series: GO Into All the World.

Every Sunday, from June 14 – July 19, we’ll be talking about practical ways we can share the gospel, following examples throughout the Bible. You can join us live every Sunday at 9:30 and 11:15 AM—in person in McKinney, TX, or online on YouTube—or check back here to watch the videos afterwards.

WHAT IS SIN?

At its core, sin is a broken relationship between humans and God. It’s our human tendency to live as if God doesn't exist, putting yourself at the center of everything. Every person does it, not because we're monsters, but because we all have a natural desire to decide for ourselves what's right, rather than looking to God. And too often we choose badly—hurting ourselves and others in the process. All this creates a gap between us and a holy God—and that gap is what Jesus came to close.

WHY DID JESUS DIE FOR ME?

Because sin has consequences, and Jesus took them in your place. We believe Jesus was God himself stepping into human history to absorb the weight of human brokenness — not because God was angry and needed someone to punish, but because love sometimes means taking on pain so someone else doesn't have to — think of a parent stepping in front of their child. Jesus didn't die because you deserved it. He died because he wanted you back.

WAS JESUS REALLY RESURRECTED?

This is perhaps the most important part of the story, so it’s a good question to ask. The short answer: yes. There is genuine historical evidence that points to the reality of the resurrection. Even non-Christian historians generally accept that: Jesus was crucified, his tomb was found empty days later, and his followers claimed to see him alive — then died for that claim rather than simply deny it. We encourage you to watch some of our previous sermons on the matter to get more information. Finding Certainty in a World Full of Doubt is a great place to start.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE “SAVED”?

To be saved simply means you’ve been rescued from the permanent separation from God created by sin, and restored to the relationship with God you were designed for. It’s being fully known, fully loved, and free from shame.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO BE SAVED?

Believe and receive. You don't have to clean yourself up or earn your way in. "Believe" means actually putting your trust in Jesus: trusting that what he did was real, that it covers your sin, and that you need it. That trust comes with repentance — not groveling, just a genuine recognition of past sin, and a change of direction, turning toward God instead of away. You can take that step right now, in a simple, honest conversation with the Lord. No special ceremony or fancy words required.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. – Romans 10:9

WHAT IS ETERNAL LIFE?

Jesus defined it simply: "knowing God." It's a relationship, not just a destination. And it starts now — when you come into genuine relationship with God, something shifts in the present: a sense of being known and loved, a freedom from the endless pursuit of “meaning” through the things of this world. The Bible also describes a future physical resurrection — not floating spirits, but renewed bodies in a restored creation. No more death, grief, pain, or loss.

WHAT IF I’VE DONE BAD THINGS — CAN I STILL BE SAVED?

Yes. Fully, completely, no asterisks. The entire story of the Bible is God pursuing people who feel like they've gone too far — from a man who had Christians executed before his own conversion, to a thief dying on a cross next to Jesus who received the promise of paradise with no time left to “fix” anything. The grace at the center of Christianity isn't small. It goes deeper and wider than any sin. Your past doesn't disqualify you and it certainly doesn’t define you. If you're carrying something you wonder if God could ever forgive, rest in the comfort of the cross. That’s exactly what Jesus died for.

I’M STILL NOT SURE ABOUT ALL THIS. WHERE CAN I FIND MORE?

It’s okay not to be “sold” right away! First and foremost, we encourage you to keep pursuing God as you navigate your faith journey. Turn your doubts over to Him — He can handle it! Pray that He would surround you with people who can guide you, that He would reveal himself to you through His Word, that you would develop a deeper understanding of Him.

Next, watch some sermons on topics you’d like to explore, to begin broadening your understanding. You can view our past sermons here — The Big Story series would be a great starting point if you’ve never read the whole Bible!

Finally, feel free to reach out to us if you have questions or would like to chat more. That’s what we’re here for.
