WEEK TWO

Welcome to week two of 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting! We’re praying that you are connecting with God and others during this time, and that the Spirit is bringing you joy.

This week’s memory verse:

In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10)

Day EIGHT

BEGIN

Pray to experience joy in Christ through our theme verse:

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

Review the memory verse for the week:

In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10)

READ

Read and meditate on this passage today: Luke 15:1-32. In this passage Jesus tells three stories of something lost being found, and the great joy that results.

On day one, we are reading the entire passage for the week in our own Bibles. What theme(s) do you see in the chapter? Where do you see joy?

PRAY

As the Spirit leads, let these themes guide you in your prayer today:

  • Thank God that he pursues lost people.
  • Confess ways that you are or have been lost.
  • Ask God for strength to continue your fast. If you have broken it, just start right back.
  • Ask God how you can encourage your prayer partner this week.

JOURNAL

What are you learning as you seek Christ’s joy?

What do you sense God is saying to you through this passage?
