BEGIN

Pray to experience joy in Christ through our theme verse:

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

Review the memory verse for the week:

In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10)

Read and meditate on this passage today: Philippians 1:25

In your own Bible, go back and read the previous few verses to see what Paul is convinced of.  

Philippians 1:25

Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,

What life purpose does Paul grab hold of? For Paul personally, it’s better to be with Christ. That’s better by far for all of us. So why do we remain on earth?

PRAY

As the Spirit leads, let these themes guide you in your prayer today:

  • Pray that God will show you the purpose of your life.
  • Ask God to reveal any lesser purposes that guide your life, any idols?
  • Pray for the grace to choose to live for other’s progress and joy in the faith.
  • Pray that you too will find your joy in helping others find and follow Christ.
